ZHANG WANG is 40 years of age, a native of Tian Tai County, Zhejiang Province. He was enrolled in the Fine Arts College of China in 1985. During the years at college, he took to photography as his secondary specialization and became a winner of the school¡¯s annual award of photography. After graduation, he worked in the field of art design, and was also employed by Shenzheng University as a member of the fine arts faculty. He returned to Hangzhou in 1998 to concentrate on photographic creation. His works has won him over 30 awards at home and in the world, which include the First Prize of the Ninth Exhibition of Photographic Works of Zhejiang Province, Gold Medal of the Second National ¡°Star Cup¡± Competition of Poetry, Calligraphy, Painting and Photography, and Excellence Prize of the International Exhibition of Artistic Photography¡± in Austria. He had series of works published in China Photography, Photographers of China, Newspaper of China Photography, Newspaper of the People¡¯s Photography, and World of Photography. The two newspapers once featured a full-page introduction on the photographer and his works. In December 1999, Zhang Wang was awarded the title of Senior Photographer of the State. In February 2000, he entered School of Photography, Beijing Film Institute for focused study on photographic theories. He was accepted as a member of the Association of Chinese Photographers in December 2000.

At present, Zhang Wang works as a professional photographer, a consultant of World of Photography of Taiwan, and a guest professor of photography at the Wen Rong Institute of Culture and Art.
